SHEPHERDSTOWN COMMUNITY CLUB DINNER TUESDAY MARCH 21 MAKE YOUR RESERVATION for a special MIDDLE EAST DINNER ($20) prepared by Carol Sanders of Real Good Food Dinner will be followed by a Program of the Potomac Valley Audubon Society "Nurturing Native Pollinators: ecological considerations to support pollinators in your garden" starting at 6:30 and ending at 9 in the War Memorial Building (German & King Sts.) The dinner menu will start with a Mezze Platter of Humus, Baba Ghanoush, and Mahummara (sweet red pepper, walnut, & pomegranate molasses); raw marinated vegetables (carrots cucumber & beets), along with olives, feta cheese, and flat bread then a main dish featuring Bastilla: phyllo wrapped chicken, parsley, and egg filling fitted out with Middle Eastern spices - along with Persian rice, cooked greens with pine nuts and raisins, & Tsimmes (a sweet and savory fruit & vegetable dish) and finally a desert of either orange & almond cake or Moroccan date cake.
