Public Assistance Meeting to be held in Jefferson County on Thursday, July 19, 2018 The West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) will be holding a meeting on Thursday, July 19, 2018 for Jefferson County agencies and organizations which may be applying for Public Assistance with recovering expenditures used during the May 28, 2018 – June 3, 2018 Flood event in Jefferson County. The meeting will take place in the Independent Fire Company Meeting Room, located on 200 West 2nd Avenue in Ranson, WV 25438. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. and is expected to adjourn at 9:00 p.m. The meeting will be discussing the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Public Assistance policies and procedures. Public Assistance can be utilized to fund the repair, restoration, reconstruction, or replacement of a public facility or infrastructure damaged or destroyed by a disaster. Please note that Jefferson County did not meet the threshold for residents to receive Individual Assistance. Individual Assistance is provided by FEMA for individuals and families who have sustained losses from a disaster.
