A parakeet of some sort I'm guess. Small, blue and white, definitely not a wild bird. It flew onto our deck in gate 4. We put out some bird seed for it, hoping it will come back, but I'm afraid the poor little thing won't make it on it's own. Maybe if I atleast had a name of the bird or something I could get it to come to me? I sure hope it comes back.

I'm not going to be posting a pic, if owner turns up, want them to be able to describe it very well. Took it to the pet store, and found out it's a very expensive bird, so we want to make sure it goes back to the right people.

They freeze too if you don't catch them, someone's parakeet got out at our old house, it ran with a flock of birds until it got cold.

I saw a poster at HF post office about a missing bird that flew out of their back door.

Have to go there later this afternoon. I will get number off of poster and pm you with it so you may call them. Don't let the bird go!

Cool that you caught him!!

Hey I was at the PO earlier and the bird that is posted there is.. I believe is an African Grey. He is about 10 inches in length with a red tail. I think you said that the bird that you caught was quite a bit smaller? I wrote the number down, if you think that this is that particular, missing bird.. :)

Yea I called, this bird doesn't fit description, and is def. not an African Gray. Thank you guys for helping though, it's much appreciated!

Is it a noisy bird? My neighbor's bird is a noisy monster day and night. I believe she keeps hers in the sun room/porch. I've never seen it, just heard it.

Thus far, it doesn't seem to be overly obnoxious with noise. It does make a pretty sound though. When it was flying around yesterday evening outside, it was talking to us like crazy! It seems to be in pretty good health as well too. We bought a book on it today, and all the stuff it needs. $90! Birds are expensive!

Did you name it yet? My guess is it's not very likely you'll find the owner. It could've come from anywhere. Carl and I found a homing pigeon this time last year,
and it had a band that we looked up and the bird was from Philadelphia. We fed it and cared for it for about a week per the instructions that came when we googled
its band number, then he was strong enough to get home (we hope).

I think it's like a little good luck charm. Animals often find themselves someone to take care of them, they're smart like that.

Aww...This reminds me of when my Larry got away.
My Dad's stupid friend opened the door and stood there talking (right after my dad said don't hold the door open) and the bird flew out.

We had lots of sightings but never did get him back. :(

Nice job catching a bird...Seems so impossible! :)

Any news? Did you find the owner yet? What will you do if you don't find the owner?

... 18 questions left ;):o

We haven't found the owner yet, and if we don't, we're gonna adopt it.

Oh that's good! Glad to know it won't be going back to the pet store to be poked and prodded at by little kids

Either way, good luck finding the owner! I know how expensive birds can be!

OH man, that sucks that it wasn't the missing bird. I only glanced at the poster at the post office. Thought maybe it might have been the same bird.

Actually, the poster was gone by the time I finally made it there on Saturday. So it looks like THAT bird still may have been found.

Very cool that you are going to give him a good home. Kudos to you!!!

If it has a leg band on it will have info on it and possibly trace it. Good luck.
