What you have all been waiting for......

Sunday December 7, 2008
From 6-9ish pm
At Tony & Kallista's home (PM for directions)

We will keep the chocolate chip cookie rule, but if you can make them more special I won't object (such as peanut butter chocolate chunk or triple chocolate chip or chocolate covered chocolate chip sandwich cookies...)

We will also allow homemade candies this year. (For all you non-bakers out there)

Please also let us know if you have any food allergies

If everyone could also bring copies of their recipe for the other attendees

We will be looking for about 6 cookies for each person attending. (*before you panic about that being too many cookies to make, not everyone who signs up actually comes, but for people who can't make it, but want to participate you can drop off your cookies in advance and we will put together trays for you)

I can't promise not to make too many types of cookies this year....but we will have assorted things to nibble on and a variety of drink options.

Yay!!!! I've been waiting for this. Thank goodness it's in the evening because I have a baby shower to attend in the afternoon. Now I can do both!

What's the chocolate chip cookie rule?

Normally at a cookie exchange you are not allowed to bring chocolate chip cookies. The idea is that since this is a holiday event you want to make something special. Chocolate chip cookies just aren't that exciting. Last year we decided that if you could do something to make the chocolate chip cookies more exciting that we would allow them (something like making a chocolate cookie dough with white and dark chips then drizzled with a red chocolate confection would be ok.

I think I picked a cookie to make. How many dozen do you think I need?

toberah, i don't have little ones so the house is not child proof.

lar, it's kinda hard right now to give a firm answer, but so far there are about 10 people signed up, so a half dozen per person would be 5 dozen. But, there is still a bit more time to sign up. So at this point my best guess would be to make about 6 dozen which in a lot of cases is one or two batches for most cookie recipes.

I can't make up my mind as far as what type of cookies to make, what kinds are you all thinking of?
