View Full Version : Blue Car, No driver window
There has been a suspicious car coming up and down our street, a cul de sac, a couple times a week usually around 8 - 9 am. My neighbor has been telling me about it. Today I saw the car myself. He came up our street with chains or cables on. why? we don't see he has any ties to anyone on our street and especially on a day with this kind of weather. The driver window is either broken or always down and there is a VA license plate. The car is a older model Pontiac or like. Has anyone seen a similar car in their vicinity (Shannondale). we suspect he may be casing us out because we can't think of any other reason this individual is around.
Take pics/video. Email me for help posting it (better - ask down in the Help! forum). But honestly it sounds like someone picking up a coworker.
I mean, you'd really have to admire a burglar that puts on chains and goes out at 8am in a snowstorm to case houses!
I know it is odd. I doubt it about the co-worker. There are only four houses up there. I have reported to the police. we thought maybe he was riding up other streets in Shannondale, i.e. the chains.

Sounds like the car that has been delivering our newspapers lately.
PS saw the plate on our newspaper car and it is 3CW180. Try asking if one of you neighbors gets the paper delivered. This guy usually drives with the window down.

Just some FYI... this was called in today and I typed up a memo with the information for all the deputies... if we see it, we'll stop and check welfare, reason for being in this area, etc. If you happen to get a tag number, please pass that information to me. Thanks!

Thanks, Deputy, on behalf of all of us on the Mt.
It is quite possible he is delivering the wash post or something. That plate number seems close to what I saw. If it is a newpaper delivery man that would be quite an overreaction on our part but in view of robberies I have been hearing about it pays to watch what is going on around us. In this case, I think the forum is an effective place to communicate.

Amen, lar, and remember the Safety Patrol mantra: Observe, Record & Report. The bad guys will soon get the idea that We're watching for Them!.
It now appears this is more likely a newspaper man than a predator. My husband said my neighbor and I can go after the mailman next. Sorry to alarm anyone. You can revoke my username and password anytime. Thanks neighbors!
Thanks lar. Better safe than sorry. Keep those eyes open and report your concerns.

I confirmed that it is The Journal,The Herald, And the Washington Post carrier Yes he contracted with all 3 papers. Gary himself drives either a tan Rodeo or a marroon Blazer his buddy Andy splits the route with him and delivers in the car. Then they meet in the middle and finish up together. Alot of times during bad weather they will just travel together because of getting stuck or something. Gary and Andy do both have chains they say its better than 4 wheel drive up here. Wish I would have read the post earlier I could have eased all your minds. NO need to worry about Gary hes been on the route for almost 4 yrs now and his eyes are always open for suspecious things. Dont be alarmed if you see these 2 guys all hours of the day and night when the weather is bad and roads are icy sometimes they are up here 10 hours just delivering papers
