I can't take it anymore. I must do something w/the cardboard. If not for that, we'd have less than one bag of trash to dispose of each week. Do any drop-off points exist?

It was mentioned in a thread...if I could find it! Halltown, just take your cardboard there, and use thier recycling dumpsters. I'm pretty sure that's what was said, someone help me out here. I think Laser Flash had the scoop.

If you head towards NoVA for work there is a drop off point at the Bloom grocery store located on Rt 15. If not you can always drop off at Halltown Paper Company.

You can drop off at Halltown 24/7 all cardboard, newspaper, junk mail, anything paper related.

Do any drop-off points exist?The paper plant on Halltown Road will take anything paper-related 24/7. Another option, if you happen to be in Ranson, is the recycle dumpsters off of Mildred (directly across the street from where Southern States used to be). {I know, I know... they're *supposed* to be just for Ranson residents, but they are there.}

BTW, if you do use the bins at the Bloom in Leesburg, you will need to break your boxes down before putting them in the bins. The other locations mentioned will take them 'as-is'.

Another option is taking them to the dump on Old Leetown Road. You can drop cardboard and some other materials in their recycle bin.

They take just about everything. Cardboard, all the plastics, cans, bottles, stuff like cereal boxes and any other paper. It all goes in one dumpster, so you don't have to do any seperating!

The upshot is that there are plenty of places to take your paper (and other) recyclables that cost you Z-E-R-O.

You can always add it to your compost pile. I have heard that some people put their morning grounds in their paper then put in on the pile. I also use it for weed block in the garden and in some beds.

I haven't been to the Leetown dump yet for cardboard, but I've got my pile ready to go and will be going the next few weeks. I understood that for recyclables, you dump those before you have to go to the scales, so there is no charge for recyclables. It's only if you're dumping trash that you pay. I can't say for sure, as I haven't been, but that's what I understood.

I also use it for weed block in the garden and in some beds.We do that. We have a small plastic container (an old Costco biscotti jug) in our kitchen that is our pre-compost bin. Everything from the kitchen gets chopped and put into it, including my wife's grounds. We shake it up periodically and when it's full, the contents get mixed into our larger bin in the yard.

I can't say for sure, as I haven't been, but that's what I understood.Yes, that's the way it works... the recycle area is just before the scales. BTW, you *do* know that the second Monday of every month is "free day", right? (You can dump the first 300 pounds of trash at no charge.)
