View Full Version : Sparky & Duke lost BOTH DOGGIES HOME!!!
Sparky just rolled in after 24 hours..Duke is still missing..
Sparky and Duke decided to sprint after a deer today, and have not returned. We live at the top of the mountain close to the AP trail, and we are pretty sure, that is the direction that they have ventured. Jeff has searched, earlier while I waited impatiently at home, to no avail. Both dogs are friendly and have tags, on their collars and also the injected "home again" chip. Duke is afraid of just about everything and will fear bark, Sparky is very friendly and will come when called. I am hoping that they will stay together, but Duke is not very smart and Sparky sometimes loses him, on purpose..If you see them, please PM me or, "two dogs"..We are very worried! These photos are very recent.
Thanks in advance...

Oh, Moe, say it isn't so! :( I hope your pups make their way home really soon. Hopefully, they're together, and that really smart JRT will bring his buddy and cohort in crime back home to you. Please keep us informed...

Keeping our eyes open and praying for you. They are beautiful.
UPDATE: Sparky just came home, Duke is still missing:(
Thank you so very much everyone, we miss them so much! The house is so quiet without them :( I drove into Loudon County, "the other side of the mountain", nothing. Jeff is again out on the trail, and left a note at the David lesser Shelter for the AP hikers.
Gosh, I can't believe they are still on the run. Put up signs, signs and more signs. Hopefully someone has taken them in and will be contacting you shortly. Anytime, my dogs are missing someone has picked them up being a good samaritan. They could be in someone's yard or basement.

I am very sorry that Duke has not come home yet. I will keep a look out for him. Maybe check Sweet Springs and put up a picture and notice there?

Glad one is home - I would definitely call all the area shelters to tell them you have a missing dog in case anyone drops him there. (which happens a lot) Also pics at all mailboxes, etc.
If you create a flyer and attach the file, I'm happy to help print and hang them.
Sorry but which one is Duke?
Duke is the big red one..thanks for asking..

You mention Duke is a fear barker. Would he allow himself to be caught, or would it be better for anyone sighting to just let you know as opposed to just chasing him away?
I ask b/c I know our dog Zeke is so skittish if he got away no one but us would have a chance of catching him.
Shadowplay, he may come to you but he was an abused dog, and is fearful of men. He may approach, and is non aggressive, but please let me or my husband (twodogs) know anytime via PM, I am checking all the time..thank you!
This sucks, but I am on the hunt!
I just heard a knock at the front door opened it and there he was! Duke was exhausted, but he made it home, 30 hours later! Sparky immediately came out to greet him and then went back to bed..Two very tired but happy puppies in our home tonight! I am a happy Mom too! :)
Thank you so very much for all of your support..this mountain rocks!!!

Great news! With an almost 6 y.o. and four dogs we're often having a dog slip out. You just can't relax until you get them back.
