Unfortunately the degenerates have struck again. Forgive me if this topic has already been discussed, but I will proceed anyway.
My wife and I were walking our dog this afternoon down by the lake and noticed [u]three street signs </u> laying in the lake runoff culvert. The signs included Laurel Hill, Upper Clubhouse/Lakeside, and Upper Clubhouse/(maybe Lakeside again-I forget). The poles are still attached to the signs and if someone tells me what to do with them, I would be happy to climb down there and retrieve them.

How bored do you have to be to put the effort into removing signs and hauling them to the lake? Get a job rejects! OR pound your head into a wall(you aren't using your brain anyway).[banghead]

The street sign for Lower Clubhouse/Moonshine was removed and thrown into the woods right next to the road in a neighbor?s backyard a few weeks back. It laid there for a month until either the county or a frustrated resident finally installed it back to its proper place. There are quite a few teenagers, who either live at, or visit the house where the sign was temporarily thrown. I don?t know if anyone knows these kids, but they are fairly recognizable with their punk getup (blue/orange/pink hair, black clothes, leather and hardware store attire, etc.). I?m certainly not blaming them for the vandalism, but if they would have replaced the sign to its proper location rather than let the sign lay in their backyard for weeks, it would have gone a long way to help heal the bad rap the teens seem to get around here.[conf13]

I was told come time ago by the Director of 9-1-1 that their office was in charge of installation and maintenance of those 9-1-1 street signs and that DOT had zip to do with them. The Director's office is linked HERE (http://www.jeffersoncountywv.org/addressingpage.html)

Check the link KC2-It's for 9-1-1 Addressing
I know, you're joking but my fav quote is:
"No one in this world has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people".
I'm sure someone WOULD call 911
