Hello Community,
My wife and I purchased our house in Dec 2007. We noticed that there was a gazebo on the edge of our property by Walters Way. We later found out that it was a bus stop for the kids and thought that it was great that the kids had a stop there.
We have noticed that it has become a hangout for teenagers/kids to come smoke and loiter. We don't think that people/kids realize that it is on our land and we often find butts, beer cans and bottles, trash, and other such items down there. It's not that we mind kids stopping there when they're out of school as long as they're not disrespectful, littering, smoking, screaming, taunting our dog, etc. There are plenty of kids that sit in the gazebo without incident. We also don't mind sharing our property so that the kids can have a place to keep dry while waiting for the bus. We grew up in Washington where it rained a lot and I didn't have a covered bus stop so I can appreciate the community effort to build one.
The whole point of this thread is to see what the affected parents thoguhts are on re-building the shed out of metal instead of wood so it lasts longer. We have noticed the the edges of the roof are starting to rot away and would like to know your thoughts on it. I haven't quoted materials for the shed but I will be asking for contributions/help with it when I get ready to tackle the task. Thank you for your time and understanding.
