What makes this story even funnier is that they used him as the model for not one, but two of the gang members on their poster.

Probably just an overworked graphics artist and a one time sale. Besides, aren't all rappers gangstas? Or gangsta-wannabes?

There are thugs, and then there are thugs with recording contracts. Not seeing the harm here.

Mostly I just find it hilarious because a) they used an easily-ID'ed celebrity, b) they straight-up traced the photo, c) they were so lazy they used the same guy as a model twice. I mean is it really hard for a PD to come up with photos of local gang members on the street?

See, you're assuming this PD has a full time graphics art department that designed this. I bet they just bought the artwork from someone.
