View Full Version : Cloudflare
Our host just made Cloudflare (https://www.cloudflare.com/) available to us. Does anyone have any personal experience or even anecdotes to share? I'm having trouble seeing a downside, but I thought I'd ask before throwing the switch.

Cutesey commercial. I take it we'd give the free version a spin.
I'm especially wondering what's in it for the hosts, if it keeps loads low enough that people don't need VPS any longer.
Well, I turned it on. I have no idea if it's working but at least the forum hasn't exploded.

Here's irony for you -- I just tried to look at this thread, and I got a CloudFlare error that there was a problem and no cached copy was available.
Cool. That must mean it's working. Oddly, I've been unable to find a way to verify that. However, they do warn that stats won't register until 24 hours and it looks like they are now finally showing something - 120 page views to be exact.
I have no idea what this specific error means, but there are a lot of settings and if it crops up a lot I'll diddle with them. Right now they're all on default.

i keep getting it over and over
No trouble listed on their end since 5pm yesterday (GMT I think). I too saw an error this morning but it cleared up fairly quickly when I persisted. One would think if it's just congestion it wouldn't happen on a Saturday.
