The topic for the meeting held on Saturday was drugs - observing, recording and reporting. Much useful information given - how to report, what to report, when to report. Some key signs of drug activity - unusual amount of traffic to a house/apartment, increased foot traffic in the area, finding drug paraphernalia, noxious odors, etc. It was suggested that if there is anything suspicious going on that you observe, keep a log of the activity - dates, times, people (best description possible), vehicles (tag numbers if possible), etc. One of the best ways to record/report activity is on the new web site, as you can make anonymous reports and give the specific details in the private comments section - visible by LE and the administrators - not available to the general public. Or a report can be made by calling 724-8484 or directly to the narcotics unit at 728-3205. Drug deal in progress - call 911, but chances are it will be over till LE gets here.
LE needs to be made aware of problem areas, so the more that is reported/recorded for them will help build a case and help solve the problem.
We want to thank Dep. Holz for giving up his day off to make the presentation. Dect. Sgt. Bonifant was originally scheduled to make the presentation, but there was a last minute change in his schedule and he could not be there. LE is showing their support for our effort. Most of our meetings are giving us insight on how to be more observant and how and what to record and report.
