My wife and I took a run up to East Broad Top RR in Orbisonia, PA on Saturday. I took a whole buncha photos and thought y'all might like to see some of the first posts.

So what's the purpose of that odd track in #19?

That is the single, circular rail that the engine turntable runs on. It is down inside a pit. I will more images of the turntable and roundhouse in another gallery, shortly. Thanks for the question.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I just finished the full set of the East Broadtop and Trolly images. The turntable is visible in one of the panoramas as well as images 73, 75 and 76. Hope the industrial archaeologists enjoy.

I figured some sort of circular device. But what makes no sense is why the rail would be on the outside of the ties. Seems to me if you only had to support one rail, you would put it in the middle of the ties.
