well, my youngest left for kindergarten today. :)
he went for orientation yesterday. He liked his class (theres a sand box in his class!) and he seemed very comfortable and excited about going for real today. During the 1st half of the year he?ll be using the same books we worked on last year so he?ll be repeating a lot of the work for the 1st half of the year. But that?s okay cuz I know he?ll do great since he?s done it all before! I?m so proud of him!
anyway, heres his first day of kindergareten pic:

Congratulations! I remember and treasure when my little ones were actually that little.
We do first day of school pictures every year and they really show how the children have grown each year.
I've got tears in my eyes and these aren't even my kids! I guess I'm thinking about my little guys first day (4 years from now!)
Best of luck to your beautiful children!

The picture of them together is absolutely adorable!
I am getting really sad now...:-(
Mine just started Kindergarten too, from the sandbox I'm pretty sure they're in the same class. They grow up so fast! *one tear*

Just wait until you have tears in your eyes because you're so damned glad they actually graduated from high school. I had to drag my first one kicking and screaming through all of the grades because he hated school so much. He joined the Marines on a delayed entry program before he graduated and then missed so much of his last semester partying that he had to go to summer school with the newly ex-pregnant girls and jerk offs to finish graduating one week before they took him off to boot camp. Now he's an ex marine, a law enforcement official, a writer for an online sports magazine and has started writing a book. Go figure. Another one of my boys, who was a genius in school and who was someone I never had to ask to do his homework because he always did it on his own, was always on the honor roll, always read everything he could get his hands on, went to college for 2 weeks, hated it, stopped going, and now works as a waiter. [banghead]
The 3rd boy was an average student, never reads, did ok. Now he is an "extreme bartender" (if you saw Tom Cruise in the movie "Cocktail" you will know what that is), wins all kinds of competitions, has girls crawling all over him, knows how to work a room, and is making money hand over fist. [conf13]
So, don't cry when they start school. Cry when it is all over. From relief, worry, confusion, whatever. All that stuff in between means nothing, because there's no telling how it's going to turn out.[wink2]
