How does the cookie exchange work? Can't say I've ever been involved in one or even know what it is.

Last year- we all baked cookies...enough to give away to each person there....like 1/2 dozen to each person.
Then we all just sat around and had wine and socialized. (imagine that!) and when you go home you take bunches of yummy cookies with you!

Me, either, but if there's cookies, I'm in ;)

Each person brings 1-2 types of cookie (or holiday candy)in a large enough quantity that each person gets between a half dozen and a dozen of each type of cookie.

Cookies need to be homemade (no store bought cookies)

no chocolate chip cookies

bring copies of your recipes to share

bring a large plate or tray for taking home your goodies

I will provide wine and other drinks, chocolates and other nibbles.

If anyone has any other questions feel free to ask.

Count me in. Name the day and time and I'll be there with cookies in hand. Year before last we (St. Andrew's) did a fund raiser selling homemade cookies, maybe we could use our culinary skills to raise funds for this site or one of the other worthy ones, i.e., FOSS, Save the Lake, etc. by doing one? We met, decided on receipes and then pooled our money for supplies, met at the Mountain Community Center and baked our butts off! It was hard work but a lot of fun and we raised a tidy sum of money. Regardless, I would love to participate in the event raised here.

A bunch of women in a kitchen laughing and baking together? That's my idea of heaven :)

I'm in.
I live right up the street, it would just be wrong of me not to attend.

And, as last year, expect my cookies to be pretty, but don't expect them to taste as good as the rest of the ladies! ;)

You do know that I would have dragged you kicking and screaming if I needed to...don't you? ;)

Let me know when because I WILL definitely make time to do this! This sounds like an event that will take place closer to the holidays? By then Chase should be over his colic which will make things easier around here for me to sneak off on my own for a few hours. Bryan and Taylor would love to have bunches of cookies in the house so I'm sure neither would object to me taking some time to myself to do this. Do we bake at home and bring them?

If I remember correctly we were gonna aim for the 9th or 10th of December and we are going to try for a little earlier than we were last year. What date and what time works better for everyone?

Yes, you bake the cookies at home and bring them to the exchange. If you are making a delecate cookie the recommendation is to make them a day or two in advance. If any one wants to join in but can't make that weekend you can drop your cookies off before hand and we will make sure that you get a plate. But the more the merrier.

Do we want to sign up for cookies this year?

Sign up for cookies? Like say what kind we'll make?

yeah, it's something the different cookie exchange site recomend so everyone doesn't bring the same types of cookies. It is just a thought.

We'll need a running tally of how many people are participating come late Novemberish, so's we can guesstimate how much we're going to be baking :)

Without my crystal ball, I'd have to say the 10th in the afternoon would work better for me (the 9th is Harpers Ferry's Christmas Parade). [Angel15]

They were pretty! Damn you Crissy! I put a lot of time into those things! Arrrgh!
I am excited to make them again...Don't tell I half cheat though, ok!??

Gingerbread and Sugar - But it will mostly be frosting and my gingerbread in no way shape or form will taste anything like JJ's. That chick can cook, she is way better than pilsbury!

I might bring a few other things if I have time to venture into the baking thing...Who knows what though...Will have to wait and see!

This year, since we know eachother, is going ot be waaaaaaaay more fun!

**Excited**
