Cleanup Around Mailboxes

The hubby and I cleaned up the phone books from around the mailboxes (left side of Mission Road boxes -- not sure what that area is called). I can't believe people picking up the mail there every day choose to ignore them lying there for at least a month now!

Come on folks let's take care of our mountain!

And no one seems to care that they have it BAD up here.

Willis made the suggestion that we Adopt the Mission Road spots. I hesitate to do so until we grow the BRILLO group. It would be unfair for a handful of us to maintain all of Mission Road for everyone else. We would have to commit to 4 pickups a year. My time is stretched to the limit now!

We can discuss more on Thursday but I'm thinking of a BRILLO recruiting signup sheet at the festival. I would really like to get a pickup group together for Oct 28.

I'm not out to embarrass anyone(oh yeah?), but next time we should take a photo of before and after. Sometimes(in defense of those who pick up their mail) folks don't realize how bad a place gets over time(litter creep). But if they actually see a pic posted on the board and the BRILLO website of before and after, maybe, just maybe....

I really need to take a picture of J.B. Farm and Dawn Lane after trash day and the dogs I see out every Friday morning.

Katherine: Do you think the jerks that own the dogs would pay to get the dogs back if the dog warden came out on trash day and took a few of them to the pound? I would hate to see the dogs suffer but sometimes the way to get people to do anything is through their "pocketbooks".
