This election, we have the chance to actually do something about the exploding growth in Jefferson County by voting for Frances Morgan for County Commissioner.
Frances is committed to opposing rampant development and is a strong advocate of preserving our historical and recreational areas. Frances has stated that she won't be bullied by the developers who are threatening our public servants with personal lawsuits if they impede development. Yes, this has already happened. Frances is an attorney who understands land use law. She gave up her law practice to care for her handicapped daughter who was born in 1997.
This morning I stopped in at the County Clerk office at the
Courthouse to research "Citizens for Fair Government", the group that
has been mass phoning and mailing Jefferson County residents. If you
received a phone call or mail attacking Frances Morgan, it was paid
for by Dan Ryan ($1,000), Lee Snyder of Jefferson Utilities,
($1,000); Ron and Terry Marcus who built Gapview and Briar Run
($1,000 each); Mike Shepp, local land surveyor; developer Lou Athey
($1,000); Realtor Christopher Schultz ($1,000) and other people in
the land development industry. The information is required by state
law, submitted October 26, 2006 in Charleston, WV by the group called
"Citizens for Fair Government", 302 N. Mildred Street. According to
the Secretary of State, this address is the business of Zachary Homes
and Wolverine Investments LLC. "Citizens for Fair Government" is a
pro-growth special interest group attempting to influence the election.
Frances Morgan is a high caliber person of integrity and honesty. She doesn't deserve this mud-slinging from her opponent's supporters. She is not even a party to the taxes that are in question.
A review of Jane Tabb's financial report shows that the $10,000+ the
developers raised far exceeds all the money Jane has raised otherwise.
