Maybe NOT So Anonymous
but
A sign has been ordered from "Vital Signs" in Chas. Town. Permission gained from St. Andrew's on-the-Mount Episcopal Church to install the sign on the billboard facing east on the north side of State Rt9. And all we need is for someone with a vehicle capable of transporting the 4'X8' sign to the site and attaching it to the existing plywood.

In its continuing effort to bring the Blue Ridge mountain together as a community, S&B is trying to get more participation from our Mountain Neighbors north of Rt9. The sign's placement hopefully will expose our URL to a much greater number of potential board users.

Any help would be much appreciated. Susie at V.S. indicated the sign might be ready as soon as this Friday. The signage is chloroplast(not the chlorophyll thingie) plastic ubiquitous along our roadways in the guise of electioneering and home sale usage. It will be quite lightweight.

I'll check with Susie Friday. Would someone be available Sat. Morning to pick it up(next to Wendy's) in C.T. and do the lion's share of the installation?

Is anyone available to help with this sign? ?

I will be in DC Saturday morning and am all thumbs with tools, but maybe sometime in the afternoon Sat? Or the following Sat?

I'm good towards noon.

But I still admit I'm not sure where the darn thing goes. Or what's needed to mount it.

I've been contacted by someone who will be able to help. I've got to call tomorrow to make sure the sign will be ready to pick up. The mounting should be a snap. It would be attached with screws(I suppose pan heads would be best, but standard bugle headed deck screws would do) shot thru 1" fender washers spaced about 2' apart into the existing sheet of plywood on the standards.

BUT

There's always a but! The signposts are situated on uneven terrain and the sign would have to be installed using ladder. Our volunteer is well versed in working at heights performing derringdo. However, I'm sure he wouldn't object to some assistance.
As far as the location, can someone add any better detail?

It's Up
And I'll profusely thank our benefactors: the donor who provided the sign, the daredevil who installed it, and Saint Andrew's On-the-Mount Episcopal Church who donated the space for its placement. Perhaps it will encourage others on the Mountain to join in the fun and help us accomplish our goal of raising our MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY pride!
