I have a very large deck and need it power washed and treated. I need a very good company that will do an excellent job. But the price also needs to be reasonable. Do I need to have a contract?

What a coincidence.

I need the same thing done, but I was looking for someone who would do a terrible job and charge me double! :rotfl:

Actually, let me know how this works out for you. I may be doing this during the summer.

Hillbilly,

I had my deck cleaned and sealed in the fall by a company that I was very pleased with. Being the complete dork, though, I'm blanking on their name and can't find the receipt at the moment. I'll contact my builder today who gave me the rec and then get the info to you.

We bought our own pressure washer and do our own stuff. Cheaper and always better since you do it your way.

That's what I was thinking KemCam.

OK - be careful, and start on a part of the deck that you can't see...

I damn near blasted a hole thru my old deck - it takes a little getting used to.

Owning a pressure washer has so many advantages boyond your deck. Wash the car, clean the gutters - there are many, many things that it will come in handy for.

You are right, with a high power pressure washer you can really dig into your deck if you are not careful. It is laborsome to do it yourself, so I don't blame someone for hiring it out. (Especially the pickets)

Y'all are right...haha...CC used to hate when I would do the porch...He was constantly coming out to tell me, "not too close, not too high, turn it down, be careful of the paint." After proving to him I was "man" enough to handle a pressure washer he's laid off a bit. Screw, if the paint chips, repaint it! A hole is another story, although, I'd be willing to bet, if you bust a hole in you deck with a pressure washer, you're either a dope or you needed a new board anyhow!

(CC isn't an sexist pig, ladies, I threw that "man enough" part in there for added effect!)

We did the deck ourselves the last time.....won't do that again. Thanks Wormdoc if you can get me that name....

Hillbilly, sorry it took so long.....

I talked with my builder yesterday and Jerry Rouss is his recommendation. I also used this guy on my deck and front porch. They powerwashed and sealed it and did a beautiful job. I was trying to find the receipt to tell you the price but I couldn't, and for the life of me, I can't remember what it was. But they will come out and give you an estimate. Anyways, they were very professional, did the job as contracted and right on schedule, too.

Jerry Rouss: 279-1212. I have his home phone, too, but I didn't want to post that.

Good luck!

Clint Wagner did my deck a few weeks ago, I was quite pleased with the job and the price.
