First Official "Float to the Springs Day!"

John and I would like to invite anyone who is interested in spending the day on the River to join us on a Float to Shannondale Springs on Sunday May 27. We'd like to get canoes/kayaks in the River by our house in John Brown Farm around 11 AM. We can paddle/float down river to Shannondale Springs , arriving around 1PM. There we can stretch our legs have lunch and get a tour from our own Shannondale Springs Historian, Willis Nowell. From that point we can paddle another 5-10 minutes and get out at the public access, or anyone who can't resist a little more time on the river, can continue down to the public access points on Bloomery Road or Chestnut Hill.
We have a couple of extra kayaks and possibly an extra canoe, so don't let that stop you -its going to be a beautiful day , so come on out and enjoy the River!

well, perhaps that isn't the best exclamatory phrase for the event, but...

...What an opportunity for a family to get their feet wet(oops, another not so apt phrase) and try canoing rental free and enjoy a serene riparian tableau on the way to the Springs(Cripes, they say, doesn't this guy speak English??)

But I'd be a bit wary of this character who's on the docket to act as tour guide at Shannondale Springs. He's got a shifty eye.
