OK, so I stopped by and mostly liked the place. Clean and spacious and non-smoking through-out! Gotta love it!
Hostess: Me and the missus encountered a plain looking, half 'tuded out young-something. I believe there were two or three of them. None of them pretty. I always ask for a booth and was shown a half-booth (the other side of the table had chairs). So I had to insist on a real booth - to which they relinquished. At 3:45PM on a Friday the place wasn't jammed pack and other booths were available so I wondered why they gave me the half-booth. (Hint: Hire a sweet bubbly beautiful thang and pay her double because from a marketing point of view thats all you need. That and good service.)
Waiter: A 40-something talk-to-much goof-ball applying his new-establishment marketing crap - I just said beer, cold, tall ... and the house brand of Old Dominion Lager began to sedate 'ol Lep. The nachos weren't that great ... I think they used the "liquid-pump-cheese". The Weck Beef Sandwich was awesome and the chicken salad was fresh. Didn't take too long to come out and the wait staff took away the dirty dishes fast. The waiter did mention he moved up to Jefferson County from Gaithersburg ... so here come the 'outsiders' infiltrating into God's Country.
Overall Rating: 8 on a ten-scale and I will go back again.

This is just an aside comment- A few times now I've been in a restaurant and these overly friendly "Hi, I'm Jeff (broad, flashy grin), I'll be your server today" guy actually sits down next to me in my booth and acts like he's known me since God was in short pants. He asks me how my day has been so far and some other inane questions showing me how eager he is to put me at my ease and make me feel like part of his restaurant's "family." At this point I want to slap him across the room. Is this part of the new marketing crap?

Did they have "flair" a la Office Space? That cracks me up!

The Weck Beef Sandwich was awesome...
I had the Weck Beef Sandwich this past weekend and agree that it was very good. The place was not busy at all with a lot of staff just standing around. My wife and I went there Sunday afternoon. I thought it might be busy with the INDY 500 still running. They might have been training staff or expecting a larger crowd.
I may be spending my Sunday afternoons there this fall to check out the Steelers in action. I'm still debating on getting DirectTV for the Sunday Ticket which I miss terribly. It's a real bummer that you have DirectTV to get the Sunday Ticket.

I haven't been there yet but in general I avoid those type of chain restaurants. I refer to them all as TGITuesdaybee's since the food and atmosphere (and flair) seems to be the same at all of them. Maybe if I were a sports fan it'd be a good place to go but I'm not. I'll probably give them a try anyway at some point.

These chain restaurants do tend to be the same. That way no matter were you go in the U.S. a Ruby Tuesdays, or Applebees etc. will be prety much the same. You know what to expect. It's safe that way.

Tomorrow evening the Budweiser Clydesdales will be out in the parking lot for the grand opening. Cool!

Lep, how's come you can get out and write a full review on a restaurant, but you can't get over to the SmarTag office and get those velcro things that stick your SmarTag to your windshield?
You totally look like a butler the way you hold that up like it's a drinks tray.
Also, if you go to a Glory Days, ever, you're a fool if you don't order a side of their macaroni and cheese. Best ever.

Wasn't sure that was you this morning Mr. City??? Not the Subaru or the Honda. Do you like your new wheels?
Actually, I'm either too old fashioned or too lazy to hook that device up to the windshield - all this new technolgy and glue that sticks to glass.
I'm not a big fan of mac & cheese ... though the wife loves it. I'll recommend it to her next time - thanks.
Scion-nara for now!

Yeah, that was me. Hey - I went to the SmarTag office when I got the new car a week or so ago. I grabbed a handful of those sticky things. Here's the cool part: They're VERY strong. I used a few to mount a flat stereo to my baffroom wall! By the way, you can scrape them off the windshield with one of those razors with a handle that they use at the inspection places.
Oh, and I have the Subaru back. I'm waiting for their battle to be over, and for title closure so I can then sell it to B-dub. I can't see letting a car in perfect mechanical condition go to a junkyard in Texas, I may as well pass it along to someone who will repair the front and then appreciate it like I did. B-dub - dude - keep this in mind: You don't have to switch off the A/C to pass someone...
OK, back to Glory Days: Does this one have the 10 channel speakers in the booths that allow you to hear what's playing on the various TV's?
Did you tell us what kind of new car you decided on? If you did I missed it.

We went last night.
I have to agree with Lep on the lack of smiling faces at the front door. The cute blonde holding the door was pleasant and smiled but the rest of them, all brunette, (added for effect) were drab faced. Kind of like they were being forced to stand there.
Our waiter was great, he wasn't sure of a few things but since the place is new I figured it's not his fault. I had the Swiss Mushroom Onion burger and it was fabulous. I am angry about them not having the buffalo chicken salad. That is my favorite, although I may have special ordered it at the one in Drainsville...I can't remember. So I have to figure it out before I am too angry!
Anyways...I was able to get them to switch a channel but it was kind of a hassle, they can only switch between sports. If you are sitting in the back portion of the restaurant you can't see at least one of the big screens cause of the other TV's hanging from the ceiling. They do have the sound box. I would give the place an overall 9 out of 10. (Not based solely on food.) With some nicer smiling faces at the front door I would have given them a 10.
Football season is going to be great!
(BTW- they always have kids shows on at least 1 TV on each side. And news of some sort too.)

The Clydesdales were a big hit.

The horsies were a hit...People lingered up until they were loaded and taken away...I think secretly waiting to see if one of those big boys could kick his hind legs up high enough to kick his loaders in the face and to see what happens to a face when one of those big boys can kick up high enough!
(Or maybe that was just sick little me...Bwaa ha ha ha!) ;)

My sister was kicked in the face by a horse when she was younger. Her face didn't take as much of the impact as I thought it would, most of the impact force was transferred to the distance that she flew back.
Had she been standing up against something - I'd only have one sister now.
I was soooo glad my daughter didn't see the Clydesdales Friday night, as I was passing by there in my usual hurry. Had I not been on a mission, I definitely would've stopped.

KC2 - I was able to talk a handler into raising up one of those "massive tree trunks for hoofs" for a couple of pictures. Yes, those sewer lid size shoes would cause great trauma to anyone unfortunate enough to be in their way.

Another one of those threads that goes on and on about some not apparent subject. Who, what, where is Glory Days Grill and what was the original posting about it?

Glory Days is a sports bar and is located in the new shopping center where the Weis and Home Depot are. I can't offer any opinions on the place because I've never been to one.
