Did anyone get a chance to attend last night's meeting. I unfortunately was visiting a friend in the hospital, so I didn't go. If anyone went, can you let us know what was discussed? Thanks!

I went to a meeting on Wed. night at the Keys Ferry location. A lot of "discussion" about the reinstatement of the guy suspended for life - the guy wanting to tell his side, the Fire Dept saying they could not discuss personnel matters. Supportive relatives there, but also - the same thing - no resolution and no answers to questions raised. There was a couple of motions about other things - one involving cellphones while driving.
All in all, it just gave me a headache. You didn't miss a thing.
I posted about this yesterday in General Chat. I guess nothing's been resolved then. Dissapointed, but no surprise there.

One of the Motions put forward and passed was regarding a new A/C system for the main fire house on Keys Ferry Road (where the meeting took place). Since I have been researching putting in central air at the MCC I am a little more "learned" than I normally would be on this subject. I was astounded, one that they are putting in such an expensive A/C system at the firehouse (I believe it is around $40K), one that is so expensive I doubt the White House has one as good, and two that it was apparently not put out to bid, but just awarded to someone.
Things that make ya go hmmmm.....:asking07:

I need to correct my previous post......the unit proposed was $13,000 not $40,000.....sorry, I went back and read my post and about died! One heck of a typo! What they approved is an 18 SEER unit when a 13 SEER unit would have done the same job, operated as efficiently and cost effectively for about 1/3 the cost, I believe according to the research I've done.

Any answers on TRAINING, and the funding for THAT?
God forbid everyone's hot, gotta get us a cooling unit. HELLO a FAN and a bucket of ice would do nicely... Now how about getting more people trained to DRIVE THE RIGS and TRAINING to attack an emergency in a fast and knowledgeable manner?
I wasn't there, but from what I've read and heard, it sounded like a bunch of crap.
Way to go guys... let's keep up the great work!
THANK YOU TO THOSE THAT DO CARE & GET THE JOB DONE CORRECTLY THE 1ST TIME! (and when I say job correctly, I mean the stations that get over the political inner b.s. and work as a TEAM, not a bunch of he said / she said bs & drama mongers!)
13 Seer is absolute minimum required efficiency. When I replace my unit in my house at 1800 sq.ft. it will be at least 14 SEER. Plus they have Bingo right, so they need some heavy duty smoke ventilators. There are a lot of A/C men on this mountain.

First off you cannot smoke in the station because it is a public building. Two it already has a/c and fans, plus an exhaust fan. And lastly bingo hasn't been held there for quit some time now.
Well, sorry I was speculating. I knowall of the above was true years ago at the Neersville Fire Station. And, I am saying years ago.
