I just wanted to Give Thanks all of you guys who have contributed to making Shannondale dot org and its message board such a delightful experience for me. If the following list doesn't mention you, don't beat me with a blunt object. In fact, I'd encourage all to add their comments. I think we've got a pretty good group going and I think it'll only be getting better!!!
That said, I'll paste my "little note" below:
Thanks to all who have made Shannondale dot org and its message forum a nice place to visit.
In no particular order and by no means complete, thanks to:
*Tony Rosati who leads the pack in the # of posts and I'll wager the # of words therein
*betcsu who has contributed to so many discussions and provided some dynamite photos to S'dale dot org and the Alumni site
*Geri, another of the "Picnic Crowd"
*fatboy who got his Xmas present early
*TonyB whose often succinct comments put issues in perspective
*Cat, who gives views from the perspective of a native in our neighborhood
*Zeke and travlinva who have offered up comments on a broad spectrum of issues from the pedestrian to the sublime
*chipgallo whose largess is primarily responsible for our presence on the Internet
*Sphinx from whom we haven't heard of late but who was sure to add zest to our discussions
*Parker who stepped right up and let us know his opinion
*cindylu who was a driving force early in this incarnation of the S'dale board and whose encouragement resulted in its present form
*RGSofSSP, Mr. Acronym, with the unpronounceable "stage name"
*reekie29 who has tried to tempt our palates with succulent comestibles
*campbell whose favorite movie, I'll wager is the "Mothman Prophecies"
*Neal, who impressed me with his deft management of a knotty situation in RVP
*Brian who has contributed much to conversations from afar(well, at least VA Beach)
*Coglehowell whose handle is comprised of two longstanding names East of the Shenandoah
*Joe who we ought to convince to organize a Spring picnic- a Community Picnic"!
*jim surkamp and Jennifer4countyclerk, the only two politicos who saw fit to address our group prior to the election(both won, is it just coincidence?)
This would take forever- Has anyone else got some Board Members to thank? I would like to reiterate my thanks to Woody Reedy and Troy and Angela Stegner for setting up what were the precursors of the Shannondale and beyond Forum. They've given us the gift of a chance to create a COMMUNITY of folks on this side of the River.
And last of all, thanks to you lurkers, we know you're there. Shed that anonymity and come out and play.

Willis - you've given me way too much credit. Personally, I believe YOU've been the driving force in getting this website up and running -- in addition to the two tonys and those who provided technical support.
You really have a love for this mountain and it shows in your promoting this site and living here in Shannondale. (I don't care if the deer eat my plants I love my life here, my house and this mountain.)
I hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving and hopefully the new year will be fruitful.
Did someone say snow???
Take care, cindylu

Thanks, Willis! My experience is that communities get the online presence that they deserve. Here you have your excellent Alumni site, a varied discussion area and other historical, cultural and governmental resources to chose from. Keep on doing what you are doing and who knows where it will lead.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and best wishes for the holidays!

[^]Thank You Willis for this forum, and for the participation of everyone. The website keeps getting better and better. I'll think about your request for a Spring Picnic after we get through this winter. Meanwhile I have a thought or two about a winter community activity; I'll post something when I can get enough brain cells to fire at once to complete that thought.[88]

Thank you for your kind words Willis. I truly appreciate this site. It has offered insight on the 'hood, my neighbors, and local community information. I don't think that I would be as educated about Shannondale and beyond without this site. Kudos to all! Much information was also provided on the candidates of the recent election. That was very helpful in my decision making. And just so ya know, I am a "her" not a "him". No worries.[8D] Bless everyone for the current holiday season. Stay safe and watch out for the suicidal animals.

Thank you Willis. You were a great in helping me get started on this board and have such patience for "computer challenged" individuals such as myself. By the way, where can I find the Mothman Propehcies? Or better yet, is there a Mothwoman Prophecies!?

Fatboy here,
I've been out of the loop for a while, just now catching up on things. I too would like to thank everyone on this board for all the information, rants, good advice and even the nonsense. It's nice to have neighbors that care about the well being of each other and their mountain! Best wishes to all and I'm looking forward to the next picnic!

I have been following this forum for a while from time to time. My wife and I have been here one year on the mountain. We tend to stay to our selves pretty much not overly social, but we are nice people.
It was getting way too crowed for our taste in Leesburg. We Love the trees, and beauty of the Shannondale Mountain. Hopefully it will stay this way with the big boom heading in this direction.
I don?t want to see sidewalks, street lights or cookie cutter development going on. You won?t see me post here a lot, but I have to say you?re a colorful group, and done a great job on this Web Site.
I get a big kick out of hearing Willis talk. Just wanted to say hello to all and Happy Holidays. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the mention Willis and thanks for the board. Helps me "be at Shannondale" when I'm 4 hours away most of the time. Just a bit too much for a weekend commute. Someday, I would love to be able to live there too. Hope everyone had a great Turkey Day!
