I am somewhat new to the area and am looking for some things to do for New Years. Does anyone know of a place that has live music or fireworks or something along those lines that is not very expensive? Plus nothing too over run with kids. Thanks!

Speaking of fireworks (and gun shots) on New Years Eve.....there were plenty around my house. Did anyone else hear what sounded (and felt) like someone blew up their house???? It shook mine. I think someone is building home-made bombs. My mother also heard it and she is 2 miles from me.[:u]

I believe it was an aerial bomb--commercial grade fireworks. I saw the flash and it shook windows on the front of the house. Frankly, I was more concerned with people shooting live ammo up in the air. After 3 drinks, folks don't seem to realize that what goes up will come down!

the big boom I heard on New Years Day was someone missing the turn on to Riverside (Haven)Dr from Shenandoah off of gate 4. Banged and broke up a bunch of small trees but amazingly were able to get the vehicle out and continue on...

WVPHOTO,
I'm not sure if there is such a place. Maybe Torlones. It's a 'mountain' hang out and they have the best pizza.
I too miss the club. Thats how I have made many very close friends/neighbors.

I've heard that it is very smoky in there. It is hard to enjoy my pizza while also inhaling second hand smoke! I have been looking for a pool hall/bar/place to play darts that is safe for a woman. Any ideas? I've been looking for places to hang out on the weekends, but I don't even know where to begin. No strip clubs please! Anyobody have any suggestions?

Doesn't Jefferson County now have a no-smoking ordinance?
