I guess this is a question which married couples will have to answer for themselves: what's worse? The actual acts of infidelity, or the lying and disrespect? Is it "cheating" if you discuss it beforehand?

The only marriages I've seen succeed post-affair are not happy ones. It seems after one partner has decided to dump all over the marriage license like that, the other partner "forgives" but never forgets. And the insecurities of both parties (will he/she cheat again? Will he/she cheat because I did?) make it just not worth it. I'd much rather my husband be honest with me if he was tempted to stray than lie to me and tell me everything is fine.

I would rather my husband punch me in the face than cheat on me. It would hurt a lot less.

Different Strokes for different folks, I guess.

I feel like what SB says. It's the deceit more than the infidelity when it comes to calling it "cheating". I have seen adulterous marriages work, but the only one's that have worked, are the open and honest one's. The one's where the affair was discovered - don't work.

OK, things were not perfect in bed, but we sort of muddled through; at least I thought we did. We’d make love, perhaps only every three or four months, but that’s only natural after you’ve been married for so long.

Oh my.... I HOPE that is not natural after a long marriage! :jawdrop1:

I prob. feel like most of you out there. Keep the communication open and honesty!!!!

Yeah, I'm a pretty cool guy. Honesty could go a long way with me.
