Diet Cherry Chocolate Dr. Pepper

Is it in the grocery stores now? I used to know all of this stuff ahead of time when I was still working because Coca-Cola NA, Pepsi and Dr Pepper were our biggest clients. Maybe I'll have Bryan pick some up on his way home from work today along with the diapers.

Dude it is. I picked up a bottle on my way home and just tried it. The smell is reminiscent of amaretto liquer and it tastes like turpentine. Maybe it's a chick thing.......

I can't say I like it, but I don't dislike it either. It kind of smells and tastes like a bitter tootsie roll. I do like Diet Dr Pepper and Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper, though.

You know, when worked at Winsteads (http://www.winsteadskc.com/Winsteads-Menu.pdf), we had a full-service, no joke, soda counter. That's when I learned the best secret ever. Get a glass, fill it halfway with ice, and put a 1-1.5 tablespoon squirt of chocolate syrup over the ice. Then pour a NON-DIET Coke (not Pepsi) into that glass, and drink it. It's phenominal. Seriously.

This topic's soda sounds disgusting because it's too many sweet flavors crammed into the "sugar free" zone. Basically, many sweet flavors, many strange aftertastes.

...Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper, though.Years ago, my sister & I used to make something similar to this for ourselves by adding some vanilla extract and cherry flavoring to Dr. Pepper.

Speaking of odd flavors... how many of you have now tried some of the Jones flavors sold at Wal-Mart and Weis? Although my wife hates it, I kind of like the Sour Green Apple and the (regular) Kiwi.

OH, and a very, very good friend is opening up a restaurant in NC. Meaning that as a foodservice business, he can order the Patio brand cherry soda that Bojangles uses!

I tried the Jones Berry Lemonade after the Mexican Coke thread and liked it. Jones is good and cheap, so I'll probably try other flavors. (I try to stay away from Wal-Mart, but occasionally find myself there on account of my wife, and it'd be such a shame to waste the opportunity... And apparently there's Martin's for when I don't get my fix from Wally World.)
