Okay everyone. My husband would like to start a Texas Hold'em monthly tourney. In the past he has played with friends from out of town, and it is to far for people to travel, so I suggested that he start one on the Mountain. The first tourney could be at our house and then rotate homes after that. Basic guidelines would be: No Limit Texas Hold'em w/blinds, played with poker chips (buy-in can be discussed at first tourney). Looking to play first tourney in Sept., hope to have at least 10 people to start- the more the merrier! More info to come once we get a group of interested people.

Depending on the seriousness and the buy in I would also be interested. I miss playing poker with real people since we moved here!!

I am about to get a raise so I might as well lose some at poker.

Okay- we have a decent number of players here. The first Tournament is scheduled for Sept 17th, 6:00pm at our house in Shannondale. This is a NO LIMIT TEXAS HOLD'EM w/blinds Tournament - NOT Dealers Choice. The buy-in will be $20. (which converts to approx. $500 in chips- depending on the number of people who attend). Payout should go to 1st and 2nd place based on 80/20, can discuss a 3rd place (moneyback) payout. First tourney to start at 6:00 if time permits we can start a second tourney.
Bring your own beverages, we will provide light snacks.

Okay.... sorry about the mix up on the date.... the date should be actually Sept 24th, same time, same place, same rules.... Sorry for the mix up... hopefully everyone will be able to attend....

Ah... Brings back memories of our old semi-weekly low stakes (.50 cent raise limit) dealer's choice games. We always had cheat sheets on hand for those that needed them, and many used them. More of an excuse to get together than to play cards.
Oddly, very few ever called Hold Em back then (about 10 years ago). I'm not sure why it's suddenly gained so much in popularity.?

Just a reminder.....Saturday Sept 24th 6:00pm first Shannondale Texas Hold'em Poker Tourney. If you plan to attend and need directions, please email me. We would like to have a head count by Friday so that my wonderful wife knows how much snacks to prepare.BYOB. Remember- everyone is welcome- even if you are new to the board since the first posting....a good tourney should have at least 10 people (we will play with more or less).
This will be a nice relaxing evening...a change from all of the chaos that has been going on lately on the MTN.
Thanks! Danny

It's been some time since our last tournament. Between Christmas and Birthday's I've been busy and had no time AND MONEY!! to host another tournament. How about we get another tournament started and SOON.... especially since someone else has been posting a poker night. I'm thinking about getting something together either the end of this month or the beginning of next. Anyone interested.... especially BRIANT... who graciously took all our money last time, please let me know what days are good for you. Remember this is Texas Hold Em, $20 buy in, playing with chips.
Hope all is well with everyone and hope everyone has a great New Year.....
Thanks... Danny

Yes... JJ we still have poker night. I hold one every month here at the house. You are more than welcome to come. We do play Texas Hold Em' with a $20 buy in. Depending on the number of people who show up, you normally receive about $1000.00 in chips. This month we had 8 people who played but I'd like to get that number over 10. It'll be alot more fun. I do provide snacks like chips and dip and sometimes the wife is nice enough to make a buffalo wing dip that is awesome. Bring your own beverage and bring a friend. The more people the better... I like to have fun playing Texas Hold Em' and meeting new people is always cool.
NEXT TOURNAMENT IS GOING TO BE APRIL 8th at 6:00pm.
Email me for directions.
