TonyB and I attended the Historic L.C. meeting tonight. We had some good news from the Chairman, Walter Washington. He had been in telephone contact with Larry Hines who is the manager of the S'dale Springs for the DNR. Mr. Hines has promised to have the grass(we'll call it jungle) mowed by the end of the month- Now I'm going to be careful to not be sanguine in may outlook for that occurance until I see it with my own EYE. But, Chairman Washington said Mr. Hines was sincere about his promise. Talks are also going to be scheduled for discussion of our lease agreement proposal in the near future.
Now, if the DNR does follow through with their promise to mow, it may be possible to schedule some trips back to the old ruins in the Fall(before the firearm season for deer opens). TonyB and I will be asking for help in the next few weeks for 4WD transportation to check the status of the area. Keep checking back for additional entries. I'm determined to be able to show off the beauty of our little piece of history!!!
