There are many historic locations in Jefferson County and even a few that are magical in beauty, spirit or both. Jim Surkamp seems to have cornered the market in personally led tours of sites that are not on the beaten path. Today I joined Mr. Surkamp for the second time, after braving brisk weather last September.
