We just want to keep this area clean to use.

All of FOSS' Adopt a Spot Signs Have Vanished
All four signs are MIA. No other signs are missing. BRILLO's Adopt a Highway signs and the ones that Citizens of Shannondale still remain-the latter 12 years after the organization was dissolved. I have written Tom Youngblood but haven't received a response. If we haven't been taken off the list, we need new signs and we'll weld the damned nuts on the bolts. If we have been demoted, I want to know why.
Even if they decided to desolve the org.. its hard to imagine that they would waste time cleaning up signs that help promote such a good thing.
- Sort of a shame that they don't hook em up to the power lines... zaaaaaaap, poooooof.
Especially without taking down the sign posts. It may just be that BRILLO now enjoys a certain 'cool' factor, making the signs collectible. I dunno though, all this boggles the mind.
perhaps a disgruntled FOSS or BRILLO member?
Do you think the state may have removed the signs? Wasn't there some discussion from the Keep Jefferson Beautiful folks that both BRILLO and FOSS were going to be removed from the program for lack of participation. I thought that discussion had been crushed after the meeting since the records show that both FOSS and BRILLO have met all our criteria for the Adopt-a-Highway and Adopt-a-Spot program. I'll contact Travis Cooper who usually knows what is going on.
Don't hold out for anything from Tom Youngblood. I contacted him three weeks ago and asked when the inmates are scheduled for a Rt9 cleanup...so far nothing.
We call the sheriff yesterday to complain about the number of car parts being left along Mission Rd after accidents. The sheriff promised to put out a notice that wreckers must clean up properly rather than tossing the parts in the weeds. I cleaned up Johnson Hill yesterday and you can't imagine how many car parts I found.

The DEP (Mike Parks) was supposed to send a crew to clean up this area....are you saying this is a new pile or that Mike did not come through for us?
Huh? I thought I posted last month that the DEP had cleaned to ramp. The trash is gone. I was down there last week and it looked remarkably clean except for ~8 tires in the usual place. Both Shadowplay and I noted that the ramp was a bit muddy from the flood.
