    On Friday, August 3, Bob Keel & Chelsea McBee bring their Roots/Americana act to The Distillery for the first time. Bob's sound has been influenced by Bob Dylan, Jack Johnson and The Avett Brothers. Chelsea performs old time WV banjo tunes and tasteful originals. On Saturday, August 4, blues/soul wonder Billy Thompson returns to The Distillery after a summer playing national blues festivals. A veteran performer with an international reputation, Billy's most recent album featured five Grammy winners. Art Neville, of the Neville Brothers, said of Billy's music, "Man, this CD is gold-blooded!" As is he

    Default Live Music This Weekend

    It's duo weekend at The Distillery. On Friday, August 10, The Wayside Boys will perform at The Distillery for the first time. They perform with guitar, banjo and standup bass and play what is best described as American Roots music--a blend of Folk ballads, Country, Blues, Swing and Bluegrass. On Saturday, August 11, Luke Denton & Amy Glen return to The Distillery with their jazz standards, ballads and pop favorites. Both shows begin at six and are free, as are the tastings.

    Music begins at six both nights.

    On Friday, August 17, John DuRant, the old world troubadour, returns to the Distillery. A highly skilled singer, guitarist and lutanist, his repertory of songs stretches from Medieval music to modern American folk music, including Colonial American and Civil War period material - all presented in his own highly entertaining style. On August 18, always the crowd-pleaser, noted blues virtuoso Eric Fredenburgh brings his blend of Blues and Americana back to the Distillery.

    On Friday, August 24, Mike Clement returns to the Distillery. He plays guitar, harmonica and sings. Mike plays a blend of covers and originals, citing influences such as Neil Young, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, and old Elton John. The show begins at six. On Saturday, August 25, local music legend Todd Coyle hosts the OPEN MIC. Bring your guitar, banjo, triangle, tuba or whatever else to play with us, for us, or just to listen! The OPEN MIC begins at four and goes until eight o'clock.

    On Friday, August 31, Jimmy Cherry brings his signature blend of alt-country and folk-rock back to the Distillery. Expect thoughtful, melodic originals and unexpected covers. On Saturday, September 1, Jennifer Maghan, indie folk songwriter and talented multi-instrumentalist, will perform. You don't want to miss her soulful singing! Both shows start at six.

    On Friday, September 7, Jason Perry plays soulful music from a wide variety of genres, from Neil Young to the Counting Crows. Perhaps members from one of Jason's bands will sit-in. On Saturday, September 8, Gary Smallwood will play classic rock and soulful blues-rock. He also incorporates R&B, funk, country and show tunes into his playing. Gary plays more than 300 shows a year and has appeared or recorded with artists such as Jeff Healy and Bret Michaels. Music begins at six both nights. And of course, picnics, pets and children are always welcome.

    LIVE MUSIC on FRIDAY AND SATURDAY
    On Friday, Acoustic Blues Review starts at 6 PM. The duo, Mark and Dan, play prewar blues and more on standup bass, harmonica, vocals and fingerstyle guitar. On Saturday, Viqui Dill, kicks off the music at noon. This versitile performer and local favorite plays folk, country, rock, blues and gospel. At 2 PM, Billy Thompson & Deane Kern play blues, rock, soul and folk, on Strat and acoustic guitar. Watch 'em get their funk face on! At 4 PM, Luke Johnson, solo piano/vocals, performs his funky mix of jam/rock/New Orleans-style originals. At 6 PM, The Carroll Brothers, out of Winchester, play rock solid acoustic rock/country favorites. At 8 PM, Jimmy Cherry performs alt-country originals, unexpected covers, and just completely jams out, at that point possibably by the bonfire if the weather holds out.
    Bring lawn chairs, picnics, friendly dogs......

    Great live music this weekend! On Friday, September 21, the Carroll Brothers play exciting original materials, as well as covers of everything from Merle Haggard, to The Beatles to Pink. Gary is a former sideman for Dicky Betts (of the Allman Brothers), Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, and Dan Akyroyd. On Saturday, September 22, house musician Deane Kern plays boomer-friendly rock, soul classics, folk songs, jug band classics, and one Gershwin tune! Both shows start at six and are free, as are the tastings. Picnics, pets and children are always welcome.

    Cool local music as always! On Friday, October 5, newcomer Annie Stokes performs acoustic originals and standards on guitar and voice. She plays folk, indie-folk and rock, and has been lighting up the Loudoun winery circuit. On Saturday, October 6, Todd Brooks returns with his mix of classic and current rock. He plays Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Traffic, and puts on a very engaging show. Expect to be entertained! Both shows start at six. The music, like the tastings are free.     Rock out at the Distillery this weekend. On Friday, October 19, Justin Lowans performs at the distillery for the first time. A talented singer and guitarist, Justin plays in a wide variety of styles. Fans of 80s and 90s rock, or Classic rock, will not want to miss Justin’s high-energy performance. On Saturday, October 20, Acoustic Blues Revue performs, featuring Dan Cronin on guitar/vocals and Mark Dorosh on standup bass. This well-loved local duo play acoustic prewar blues.
