Fyi S'dale Club Alumna & Montana Politician, Franke Wilmer

Franke (Frankie) Wilmer, former S'dale Club member and now Montanan, seeking U. S. Congressional Office

Who knew? One of the youngsters from "back in the days" of the old Shannondale Club is vying for National political office. Like many of us kids here on the Mountain in the late '50s and '60s, we were enjoying vacations in our Summer cabins when the unthinkable happened , our parents decided to MOVE here full-time. Like my Sis, Frankie (she's since dropped the "i") graduated from the "old" Charles Town High School.

I've never had the opportunity to say I personally knew a candidate for such a lofty position, but I sure can now. Check out her website:
Pass along the information to any whom you think might remember Franke (Frankie) from the days in Shannondale and in and around Jefferson County. I'm sure she'd be tickled to hear from you.

I didn't even know you had a sister. What the heck is the derivation of "Franke" as a girl's name? Sounds German, but then it certainly wouldn't be pronounced "FRANK-ee", would it? I'd suspect more like "FRAUNK-uh". But what do I know?

Great news, from great people. Best to her.

I can see how the name evolved to "Frankie". The "e" in "Franke" is a long e. Phonetically pronounced, "Fran" (short a) "ke" (long e). Wish her all the best.

With views like hers, I wish she'd stayed in this area...
