    Default Race for Sheriff

I've seen signs for Boober, Shirley and Ballenger around the county but I can not find any info on their positions, ideas, credentials etc. The only web page I found was a Facebook page for Mr. Boober and that didn't really have any info? I was just wondering if these people expect us to vote for them based on name recognition or if they actually planed on informing the people what plans they have for the county. Has anyone found any info on these 3 or know if any debates are coming up?

    Thanks

I thought the 5 ATV's that came through the State land, through our neighborhood, down Mission to Riverside/Rock Ferry and then back up North on Mission a few hours later were in a benifit race for the sherriff... however that would assume they were really trying to catch them and doing something about our areas regular problem riders.

Do you have a debate schedule handy? I need to plan sort of far ahead for an evening thing. Are they posted on John's Delegate page? Or Facebook?

Which candidate is Ashbaugh paying for? I'm voting for the one that isn't him.

I'm not sure what you mean by "paying for" but the candidates' contributors can be viewed on the
    County Clerk's Website:

However, I'm sure there are plenty of workarounds in play
It is a very interesting read to click on and browse those reports-for all the candidates.

Willis, help me out here. I am not seeing the first financial report due for primary campaigners. Where did you find financial reports on that web page you cited? I tried the query box with Maxey's name but all I found was a 2008 loyalty oath.

Oops, the links to which you refer, e.g. the link for Ed Boober's campaign for Sheriff: Campaign Financial Statement - Primary, seem to be available only for "local" and not "Statewide" races. Perhaps the County Clerk's office would have an answer Perhaps the SOS's website would have that info.

Only candidates for County offices can file with the County Clerk. All others are required to file with the Secretary of State in Charleston.

In case any one might wonder who the candidate listed first on the Secretary of State's campaign finance page is, Keith Judd is a Federal prison inmate in Texas on the West Virginia Ballot as a candidate for President of the United States. I'm not sure if he has made either his tax returns or his birth certificate public yet, but here is some general information:

At least you know right up front he's a criminal. With Obama we didn't learn about that until after he was elected.

Alas, he does seem to be. If nothing else, he still hasn't prosecuted anyone from the previous Bush administration concerning CISPA violations which now seem set to become legal anyway. Though to his credit, he has raised a slight objection to CISPA without waiting for the american people to wake up and protest like they did with SOPA.

The question becomes: How far back does one have to go to find a president that didn't commit criminal acts? Maybe Jimmy Carter, but look what happened to him.

    From http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/...tified/256432/ :
When the NSA program was finally revealed, Bush Administration officials weren't prosecuted and jailed. In fact, Thomas Drake, an NSA whistleblower who complained about a separate warrantless surveillance project, was prosecuted by both the Bush and the Obama Administrations.

Good grief Reese, did you even make a minimal effort to read this thread before posting?
