Charles Town Pizza Hut Closed?

My wife & I noticed last week (before the derecho) that the Pizza Hut across the street from the racino appeared to be closed. There were no cars in the lot, no lights apparent inside, and all of the windows had (what appeared to be) white paper covering them. Although it's possible that they're shuttered for renovations, it sure looked vacated to us. Anyone know the scoop?

No. They're GONE. They opened up a new DELCO over by Martins, so the days of dine-in Pizza Hut are over for Jefferson County.

SUCKS. Dine-in fresh from the oven is the ONLY way to eat Pizza Hut.

My understanding is that Pizza Hut will be re-opening in a new location in Charles Town.

When we called last week to order there was a recording saying the new location in the Martin's plaza would be opening July 15. (Don't know what DELCO [Auto Parts???] has to do with pizza)

Oh. Oops. DELCO Means Delivery/Carryout. As in Delivery/Carryout ONLY.

No more dine-in option for Pizza Hut locally. AND they apparently decided to not replenish food inventory to keep it going until the new one opened or speed up the opening. Talk about stupid.

A Walgreens is planned for the Pizza Hut spot.

Some other retail is going down on the other side of Ruby Tuesday, perhaps a replacement Pizza Hut....or something else.

IMO... NO BIG LOSS. The last two times I was in that particular Pizza Slut the food was even more lousy than normal, not enough sauce, cheese or other toppings on the pizza, the crust tasted like cardboard that fell in dirty dishwater, the service was abysmal and I there were blatant health code violations everywhere.

Thank God. That place was a total pisshole, as BD says. The worst service and pizza ever.

I third that. The two times we went, I actually got up and served my own drinks after a half hour. They didn't even care, just stood there talking to each other and watching me do it in the empty restaurant. And their food sucked. I mean, Pizza Hut should be Pizza Hut, but theirs sucked.

Agreed about the service. Last time we went to the hut we received our meal for free. After waiting almost an hour for our food we found out that the waiter never put our order in to the kitchen.

I walked in with the idea that i would be seated, but after standing at the entrance to be seated for 5 min, no one so much as asked if I needed any help. I stood there and ordered a pizza from Domino's and went and picked it up.

I never cared for Pizza Hut myself; the dine-in ones all have this very distinct smell that I've detested since I was little. I think it might be the odor from the plastic plates and cups from the dishwasher, I'm not sure, but it's an odd scent I notice in all of them.

I'm not one for chain pizza places anyways. I'd rather have Brother's or Mena's any day!
