The big question is: Why didn't the US send up a woman earlier? I mean, not 5 or 10 but a full 20 years after the USSR. Very strange.
Courage, stamina, strength, and all that make quality of character define this woman’s life; death does not remove these. She is now in the heaven her quality of character brings closer to women everywhere. Bless her and condolences to her family.

Interestingly enough, the first woman to fly in space - Valentina Tereshkova, who PILOTED Vostok 6 in 1963 - is still going strong at age 75...
