2012 Gypsy Moth Egg Mass Survey Application

The survey application for Shannondale/RVP/JBF has been submitted for 2012. WVDA will be conducting surveys for gypsy moth egg masses in these areas in the fall. There have been no reports this summer of gypsy moth "sightings" so hopefully we will be ok for another year. However the hot dry weather we have had this summer definitely makes a gypsy moth "explosion" in the near future a real possibility. I will post the results of the surveys once they are completed.

Great news! No gyspy moth egg masses were found in our survey block or in the surrounding areas.

That id great news. Thank you do much for doing this. The grossness of an investstion is worse than stinkbugs. I remember one year Bruce and I tried to walk the Appalachian Trail and the caterpillers were so bad we had to turn around and go home
