Fyi Gov. Romney Picks Rep. Ryan as VP

    Paul Ryan vice president pick:
Both sides rush to define him
    By ALEXANDER BURNS | politico.com
Mitt Romney named Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan as his vice presidential running mate Saturday morning, touching off a frenzied new phase of the race as both sides rush to define the young House Budget Committee chairman known for his controversial proposals for restructuring Social Security and Medicare...

...“With energy and vision, Paul Ryan has become an intellectual leader of the Republican Party,” Romney said. “He combines a profound sense of responsibility for what we owe the next generation with an unbounded optimism in America’s future.”

Boooring. Two conservative middle-aged white guys run for office; where have we heard that before? At least a choice like Sarah Palin had enormous opportunities for entertainment!

It is perhaps "boring" to the average person (like me), and I don't know how to view the choice, since I had someone else in mind (and I still do); but those with imagination like Letterman and Leno, etc. will no doubt have a great deal of entertainment regarding the event.

Not the guy I thought he was going to pick, but still a good pick for P when compared to Biden. I thing those upcoming debates should prove interesting.

From what I hear Ryan is particularly smart - like Bill Clinton-smart when it comes to economics. But he won't be running for president for at least another 4 years, at which point he'll have a better chance to shine in a debate. I just hope whoever coaches Biden for the debates will keep him from trying to go head to head and instead have him play rope-a-dope.

    That says a lot. Sounds like the difference between 2 much different voter philosophies;

1.) If Bling-bling is what you want, Obama is da man!

2.) If it's boooorrring details and plans, then vote for the other guys?

    Well that's what I'm hearing....

Since Romney introduced him as the next president, maybe Romney hired someone to take himself out right at the point of becoming elected so Ryan could take right over?

Don't Mormons get like 40 virgins or something when they die? So far the guy apparently doesn't even drink tea, so I can see the afterlife as a huge incentive.

Similarly, when Jews go to heaven, they get to eat ham.

I'm actually waiting for someone in the White House to make a comment like yours. That will be fun, because for every silly Mormon belief, there is something just as silly that Christians, Jews and Muslims believe.

I cannot wait for all the fake Christians to go vote for a Mormon over a black Christian.

Expect a lot of the 'Obama is a MUSLIM' undertones in the next few months.

Yeah, those have always been around. I think the goofballs who are running with the Muslim thing were never going to vote for Obama anyway. I hope we're over that. I don't think the President is a particularly religious man, which doesn't bother me at all.

The Mormon thing is going to come up, though. People will bring up plural marriage and massacres, as if Mitt Romney is responsible for that. Things like the magic underwear will surface as well. Traditional Mormon practices will be mocked because we are less familiar with them than the equally stupid stuff other religions do.

It's not really that snickering at Mormons bothers me, only that it is hypocritical. I prefer to mock all religions.

The only reason to attack Romney's religion is that Obama cannot run on his record of failed policies, unemployment or the state of the economy.

The reason to attack his religion is because the Republican party has forcefully attached itself to the most popular religion in this country as an election strategy. Time to use that against them...

A political organization should be attacked for aligning with 80% of the citizens of its country?

He's a good looking guy. How long before he's caught in a sex scandal?

Yes, especially when the incumbent cannot stand on his record of failed policies, the current state of the economy and unemployment rates that have been above 8.2% (as reported by the administration) for 42 consequetive months. It's also a viable option when your opponents VP candidate is not a bumbling baffoon who makes idiotic claims like "He [Romney] said in the first 100 days, he's going to let the big banks once again write their own rules. Unchain Wall Street? They're gonna put y'all back in chains."

So yes, it is perfectly acceptable to criticize an opponents religion so long as the person also practices class warfare in an attempt to completely fracture the nation and pander to their low income no-tax-paying base.

I only see two actual truths in there IRT the Obama administration. 1. Osama Bin Laden is dead, which would not have happened if BHA suceeded in closing down Gitmo. 2. GM is profitable, but only because it has not yet fully repaid the loan provided by the 2009 Stimulus package and the Federal government is still the largest shareholder. Also Chrysler is only "profitable" because it was bought by Italian auto company FIAT which Chrysler used to pay back all but $1.3BILLION of the stimulus money provided in 2009.

The rest of it is BULLSHIT.
