I need some help. I have a 20 ft awning and only a truck with a 6 ft bed. Does anyone have a ladder rack or large truck that can help? It seems UPS freight only delivers on a semi and won't drive up the mountain!?&$@

Commandment number one – Shut the hell up!
How heavy is it???
- For long things, I've used the roof racks on our van before.
- Trailors also generally work well..... however I do not have one of those.
It is just under 200lbs...and I have neither![]()
200 pounds isn't that much. Can we just walk it up the hill?

I wasn't really suggesting two people could do it. And just how high do you live? It may be a several day project, especially if it can't be disassembled into sections smaller than 20 feet long (how wide is that anyway?). It could be damn hard to get a hand truck under it if it's also 20 feet wide!
It a retractable one so I'm guessing 20'X8-10"
Maybe like this???
Attachment 9310
Yes, I was hoping for a URL to it. But that attachment is broken. Where did you buy it? Can you just paste us a URL to it?
The retractable awnings I've seen really shouldn't be too difficult to transport via pickup truck for short distances. Lash that baby so it just sits off the ground and go. I mean, when retracted it's just a long cylinder, not a wide awning.
I'm thinking you could just wait for a windy day and use it like a parasail :-)
Do you know the date and time of delivery yet? In my last house I had to pick up a 20' Sunsetter awning at the entrance to my community. I very carefully drove it to my home on the roof of my Jeep. I would be glad to help as long as I don't have anything previously scheduled on your delivery date.
It is coming on Monday, they are going to give me a time that day. I have a friend who let me use his house as a drop spot until I can get it up the hill.
