Shaffer ready to head Blue Ridge’s first day

HARPERS FERRY - On Wednesday, the doors of Blue Ridge Primary School will swing open for the first time to welcome students, and the school's first principal, Nichole Shaffer, will be there to greet them.

After teaching in Virginia for 12 years, Shaffer applied for a position at Wildwood Middle School as assistant principal. She said that after teaching third grade for six years, she had finished graduate school at George Mason University and was looking for a change....
