Friends and neighbors, now that I have I.D.'d the Skyline litterbug, what should be done? At this point all I have is a vehicle description, and a person description, however I do not yet have the vehicle tag, or an address. I do have a recognizable pattern, and I do plan on obtaining further info. Those of you who know me well enough know I cannot act outside of the law. To my neighbors on Moonridge, your road has been hit as well, same person, same product, just today. Jefferson County deputies, I'd love to have your input.

Knowing who did something and having proof becomes a bit of a problem for LE.
- It makes sense and is something everyone should understand... no matter how right or wrong something is.

Anonymity in my mind breeds bad behavior.
- It would be great if you could paste this person and truck with giant letters LB (for litter bug) so all of us could keep an eye out for them with ease :-)

The Deps haven't posted in a while, Jolly. I'd like to think they are still reading the forum on occasion. You might PM them (Cpl. Sell or depholz), post to the Crime Forum or contact the Sheriff's office directly (304-728-3205).

If you have actual video of them dumping then you should send that to the sheriff immediately. But a description of a car and person doesn't give them anything to investigate or prosecute. Although a plate number would be nice if you have pictures/video, by itself I don't think it wouldn't be of any use.

Do you have a cell phone? Many of them take decent video these days.

Posting info like that here does however remove anonymity and provides neighbors some insight with what and who to keep an eye out for. A lot of your neighbors are involved with BRILLO and the watershed clean up group. I would be willing to bet if they knew what to keep an eye out for they would follow said person/truck a little more closely making it harder for them to keep there car clean at all our expense.

It would help us since we seem to have frequent traffic to a blocked road all the time. Kind of funny that a road goes nowhere but yet it is so popular.

At this time, my plan is to talk to the person, and nicely ask for this activity to please stop. Since our paths cross several times a month, this should be manageable. While I do not have video, this subject did toss something out the window of their vehicle directly in front of me, i do not believe my presence had been noticed. I do now have a tag number and address, though, whether or not the subject lives at the recently discovered address or is a frequent visitor remains unknown. Being the overly nice person that I have the bad habit of being, I do not want to publicly attack or embarrass anyone, YET. That said, my dear litterbug, if you're reading, be ready for me to stop you and talk to you, you have been caught in the act. And I am sure you know I saw you. Please stop littering on our beloved mountain.

Ok, spoke to my suspect this morning, all was very polite and cordial, please was used several times , I believe the situation could be resolved, here's hoping.
