    Default Pretty durn good sushi

To my fellow sushi cravers, I've tried different sushis from the new Japanese Steakhouse, Ginza, that recently opened up next to Martin's, by the Video Warehouse thing. It's very very good. The chef has some interesting combinations for the fancy stuff, but I prefer the plain ol' raw fishies. I've been about half a dozen times to get take out sushi, and have been extremely happy with all the stuff!

They also have those tables with the grill thing in the middle and chef's that serve you as they cook, like Benihana.

I concur. GG ad I have been there for dinner a few times and 2 weeks ago I surprised her with a take out order of the Sushi and Sashimi Love Boat.....

I hate myself for becoming addicted to the stuff but it's sooooooooo Good. Although GG ran across an article the othernight about sushi and tapeworms that freaked her out a little bit.

That little pet shop in Charles Town--Fins n' Feathers I think it is--sells goldfish pretty cheap.

I still love sushi, but I was up late a few nights ago and came across an article about tapeworms living in fish and how you have to make sure that the person preparing your sushi is certified to do so because they are supposed to chill the fish at a certain temperature for a certain amount of time to kill off the worms before serving the raw fish. If not, the worms will live and you can ingest them. Eeeewww!

Wormie-what do you think? What are the chances of that happening? I really don't want to spoil my love for sushi wondering about this.

I suggest not worrying about it, kind of like that pesky little STD you had in college didn't interfere with your love of (fighting roosters) and with a little help from your old friend Mr Penicillin that nasty old tape worm will be a thing of the past just like the .

I've been making my own spicy tuna roll with sashimi grade tuna for quite some time and we've never been sick. I get it from the grandmart in sterling. I love sushi, so I can't wait to check this out. Thanks for the tip!

Grafx, remember I'm the Wormdoc, hon. Yes there are some worms you can get from it, and you are right....you need a good chef to be able to recognize them. The worms are a common thing in many of the ocean fish used for sushi. If you want to know more....I can blab for hours about them!

I've eaten sushi with gusto for years and have yet to get any extra critters.....durn it all!

Has anyone tried the Asian Garden in Martinsburg? They have a sushi buffet on Sunday. It was super good.

China Fortune has good sushi as well. A little cheaper and not as much variety as the Japanese Steakhouse, but the salmon was very fresh!

Brandy cornered me this morning to let me know she had a craving for sushi, so I guess Wormie has calmed her fears about the parasites.

OH! If anyone does, by any chance, get a tickle in their throat and cough up a wiggly worm......DO NOT FLUSH IT OR INCINERATE IT....please save it for me.

    Thank ya!
