Dr. Ervin and Lib(Dr. Kahler) Chapman

The Chapmans were among the first of the settlers in S'dale. The built a cabin in 1956 just off Hilltop Road above Shenandoah Drive. They were best friends of Col. Willis and Jessie Nowell and the latters' trips to visit their friends resulted in the Nowell's purchase of a cabin in 1957. Ervin's death notice is below. After her husband's passing Lib lived at their home near the Naval Observatory in Wash. D.C. until ill health necessitated a move to the Presbyterian Home several years later where she still resides(2003)
                                                      

Since posting Dr. Ervin Chapman's information, sadly, his wife Elizabeth Kahler Chapman has passed on. I loved Lib- She was my God Mother and the friend of my Mom's for over 60 years - quite a enduring relationship. Of course, I've known her all my life. The Chapmans' memories will live on here at our alumni site.
