Favorite Memories: Working as assistant food and beverage manager of the Lake Side bar and all the friends in made doing so, many of whom I still know and see. Second only to that was working as a life guard at the pool and enjoying the lovely weather and great scenery (If you get my drift). Even though I moved away for a number of years, I'm still in contact with many of my friends from those years and regard those times with great fondness.
Additional Text: My years in Shannondale hold a very special place in my heart. There I made some of the best and most long lasting friendships of my life, there I made a lasting relationship with The Lord, and it is there that I still attend church and hope to one day soon, again live in my own home and enjoy the unique nature of the community of people that live there. For me, to go back to my "home" in West Virginia. For now, I live in "Chuck Town" and look up at the mountain with longing. I spoke with Bill Weber (owner of Weber's store) just today(1-18-2004) about the years I lived up there and how the weather during the winter made our community an unique experience. It really made me home sick for my home in Shannondale and I long to bring my own little family back there to live for good amongst good people, in a special place.
