Everyone has a favorite view of Lake Shannondale- The swan pic was taken in 1969, the canoe slicing thru the water is undated but we'll call it 1976. The Club tried on several occasions to have swans gracing the lake. One young male was the only result of the unions of several mating pairs. The older male had clipped wings and when the youngster would try to get cozy with(for gosh sakes) his mama, the poor daddy would try to catch the youngster who had the advantage of flight. What an exercise in futility!!! The swans fell victim to foxes and sadly, one time, vandals with a baseball bat.
