Yep, if someone had a home in the flood plain in 1972 along the Shenandoah River, it became a MOBILE home in short order during the floods of Hurricane Agnes, Up to 12 inches of rain fell in 6 hours on the Blue Ridge Mountain and the watersheds of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers. This scene taken from Mission Road of the Campground area is pretty dramatic. Water from the river reached the road at the foot of Johnson's Hill. |
