The Winter of 1976-1977 was one of the coldest in the last century. Water pipes throughout Jefferson County burst. But the cold did have its upside as can be seen here on Lake Shannondale. It would appear that Lana and PJ Baker are on ice above about 40-50 feet of water. The ice that year was over 18 inches thick. we think they'll be safe.
