| The Citizens of Shannondale sure had a run of prize winning parade entries during the 70's. The float won best of the parade for the civic organization entries.Over 200 units participated in the gala event celebrating both our country's 200 anniversary and West Virginia's 113th. We think that's Hank Aaron on the stockings and his wife Betty waving to the crowd. The fellow in the ironworker's outfit looks like our old friend Frank Robinson. Can someone tell us if that is so? Somewhere along the way, I was told(either by Chris, Frank's son or Chipp, Frank's ex-wife) that it is indeed Frank Robinson standing by the Shannondale Iron Furnace. That's one of the FEW(hint, hint) photos we have of Frank. |
