Ralph and Pete Gillwald dig their blades into the best ice anyone can recall on Lake Shannondale in 1972. Boy,oh boy, do we wish we were there with them. There were a few years when you could skate across the lake with no fear of thin ice. Folks built fires in 55 gallon drums, had cookouts, and even went ice fishing. Jeepers, we thought we were in Minnesota, for cripes sake!!!
