The Blue Ridge Elementary School was the site of the Garden Club's largesse in August 1991. An extensive addition had been added to accommodate the rapidly growing mountain communities and the club donated time, expertise, and materials to landscape the front entrance of the new edifice of learning. Seen above are Harry Smith, Arthur Kriemelmeyer Sr., Chester Shurs and Jay Pasman planting a flowering plum tree and six spreading yews.
