It's said that a Boy Scout troop went hiking Shannondale's roads in the 50's and were never heard from again. We know that's not true- the gov't air drops their Social Security checks every month. If anyone has been lost in the 'dale and saved by the road signage(and who among us hasn't), we can thank folks like Ken Derrickson for our salvation. New road signs are due to be installed soon(2004) for the enhanced 911 program, but we'll wager they won't be near as attractive as on which Ken is laboring in the photo.
